Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a tree service based in Clawson?
Yes. Alan's Tree Service is based in Clawson and has been family owned since 1984. The other companies on this list are DJC Tree and Services of Troy, Tree Service of Troy, SavATree, Troy Tree Service Hub, Viking Tree & Stump and Galaxy Tree Service. All of them are in Troy, the next town over, and all serve Clawson. Wherever the company is based, ask for proof of liability insurance and workers' compensation before work starts.
Should I trim trees before a roof replacement in Clawson?
Yes, it is a good idea. Overhanging limbs scrape shingles, drop debris into valleys and gutters, and shade roofs so they stay wet. We recommend trimming anything within ten feet of the roof. Doing the tree work before the new roof goes on also keeps falling branches and equipment away from fresh shingles. Book the tree service ahead of time so the trimming is finished before the roofing crew arrives.
Does homeowners insurance cover tree removal in Michigan?
It depends on your policy. Many homeowners policies help when a tree falls on a covered structure, such as the house or garage. Many do not pay to remove a tree that falls without hitting anything, or to take down a tree before it falls. Read your policy and call your agent before you book. The tree service's insurance matters too. Michigan does not license tree services, so ask for a certificate of liability and workers' compensation before anyone climbs.
Does Roofing Army remove trees?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only. For tree removal, trimming or stump grinding, contact one of the tree services on this list. Alan's Tree Service is in Clawson, and the others are in Troy, next to Clawson. Roofing Army does inspect roofs for free in Clawson. If a limb has hit your roof or has been rubbing on the shingles, we can check for damage once the tree work is done.
