Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a tree service based in Lapeer?
Yes. Three of the companies on this list are based in Lapeer: JDM Tree & Site Services LLC, Legend Tree Service LLC and Southeast Tree LLC. Two others serve Lapeer from nearby towns. Owen Tree Service is based in Attica, and K N K Tree Service, LLC is based in Goodrich. Get more than one quote and ask each company for proof of insurance before work starts.
Should I trim trees before a roof replacement in Lapeer?
Yes, it helps. Overhanging limbs scrape shingles, drop debris into valleys and gutters, and shade the roof so it stays wet. We recommend trimming anything within ten feet of the roof. Trimming first means branches are not dropped onto new shingles, and the roofing crew has clear access to the whole roof. Schedule the tree service first, then the roof replacement.
Does homeowners insurance cover tree removal in Michigan?
It depends on your policy. Coverage usually applies when a tree falls and damages a covered structure, such as your house or garage, because of a covered event like a storm. Removing a healthy or dead tree before it falls is generally treated as maintenance and is not covered. Read your policy or call your agent, and take photos of any damage before cleanup starts.
Does Roofing Army remove trees?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only and does not remove or trim trees. For tree work, contact one of the companies on this list, including the three based in Lapeer. If limbs have already scraped your shingles or filled your gutters with debris, Roofing Army inspects roofs for free in Lapeer and can tell you whether any repairs are needed.
