Siding and roofing share the same flashing details at every wall, and a siding crew that does not understand that will create roof leaks. We pulled every siding company Google lists in Berkley, MI, checked which ones actually have an address in town, read their reviews, and went through their websites to build this list.
How we chose this list: Siding companies are sorted by Google rating weighted by review count. Companies based in Berkley come first, and where the city has fewer than five we added the nearest well-reviewed companies and say where they are based. The Exterior Painters is ranked first because it is where we send our own customers; see the disclosure below. This list is updated for 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a siding company based in Berkley?
None of the siding companies listed here are based in Berkley. The closest is Michigan Siding and Deck Company in Waterford, about 14 miles away. The Exterior Painters works from offices in Rochester Hills and Plymouth, and A-1 Vinyl Siding Co.Inc. is based in Chesterfield, about 23 miles away. All three serve Berkley homeowners from those locations.
Should siding or the roof be replaced first?
In most cases, the roof should be replaced first. Roof work involves tear-off debris, ladders and foot traffic along the walls, which can scuff or dent new siding. Flashing where the roof meets the walls also needs to be set correctly, and siding is then finished around it. If both projects are planned, schedule the roof first and the siding after, so each trade can tie into the other's work cleanly.
Do siding contractors need a license in Michigan?
Yes. Siding on a home requires a Michigan residential builder or maintenance and alteration license for work over $600. Ask any contractor for their license number before signing a contract. Manufacturer programs such as James Hardie Elite Preferred and LP BuildSmart are also credentials worth looking for, since they show training with a specific siding product.
Does Roofing Army install siding?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only. For siding, we send our own customers to The Exterior Painters, which is run by the brother of Roofing Army's owner and also handles wood and trim replacement. If you are planning siding work and want to know the condition of your roof first, Roofing Army inspects roofs for free in Berkley.
