Siding and roofing share the same flashing details at every wall, and a siding crew that does not understand that will create roof leaks. We pulled every siding company Google lists in Oakland Township, MI, checked which ones actually have an address in town, read their reviews, and went through their websites to build this list.
How we chose this list: Siding companies are sorted by Google rating weighted by review count. Companies based in Oakland Township come first, and where the city has fewer than five we added the nearest well-reviewed companies and say where they are based. The Exterior Painters is ranked first because it is where we send our own customers; see the disclosure below. This list is updated for 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a siding company based in Oakland Township?
None of the siding companies listed here are based in Oakland Township itself. The closest is HQ Siding and Trim in Oxford, about 6 miles away. A & J Siding is in the Village of Clarkston, about 12 miles away, and Michigan Siding and Deck Company is in Waterford, about 14 miles away. The Exterior Painters works from an office in Rochester Hills. All of them serve Oakland Township homes.
Should siding or the roof be replaced first?
In most cases the roof should go first. Roof replacement involves tear off debris, ladders against walls and new flashing where the roof meets the siding, all of which can scuff or damage fresh siding. Doing the roof first lets the siding crew finish cleanly around the new flashing and trim. If both are due, plan them close together and ask each contractor how they handle wall flashing so the two jobs tie in properly.
Do siding contractors need a license in Michigan?
Yes. Siding on a home requires a Michigan residential builder or maintenance and alteration license for work over $600. Ask any contractor for the license number and confirm it with the state before work starts. Manufacturer programs such as James Hardie Elite Preferred and LP BuildSmart are also credentials to look for, since they show the installer has been approved to install those products.
Does Roofing Army install siding?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only and does not install siding. For siding and wood and trim replacement, Roofing Army sends its own customers to The Exterior Painters, which is run by the brother of Roofing Army's owner. If you are planning siding work and want to know the condition of your roof first, Roofing Army inspects roofs for free in Oakland Township.
