Is there a window company based in Birmingham?
None of the listed window companies are based inside Birmingham. The closest are Legacy Glass & Design and Advanced Glass Block, both in Troy, the next town over, and both serve Birmingham. A Affordable Glass & Mirror Co is based in Rochester Hills, about 6.6 miles away, and Clarkston Window & Door is in Pontiac, about 8 miles away. How long does window replacement take?
It depends on how many windows you are replacing and what type. A single window can go quickly: one Pure Energy Window Company reviewer describes a crew replacing an old block window in about five hours. Whole-house jobs, like the 40-plus window project a Clarkston Window & Door reviewer mentions, take longer. Scheduling varies too. Some Legacy Glass & Design reviewers had measurements done the next day. Ask each company for a timeline from measurement to install when you get your quote.
Do window installers need a license in Michigan?
Yes, for most jobs. Window replacement on a home requires a Michigan residential builder or maintenance and alteration license for work over $600. Ask for the license number before you sign. For the windows themselves, look at the ENERGY STAR rating and the NFRC label, which tell you what the glass actually does. Among the listed companies, Clarkston Window & Door states on its website that it is licensed and insured.
Does Roofing Army install windows?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only and does not install windows. Windows and roofs do share the same ice dam problem: heat loss. That is why we check attic insulation and ventilation on every inspection, and we inspect roofs for free in Birmingham.
