Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an HVAC company based in Madison Heights?
Yes. Two of the companies on this list are based in Madison Heights: LEO'S HEATING AND COOLING and R & L Heating and Cooling. The rest are just over the city line in neighboring towns. Warm or Breezy Heating & Cooling is in Royal Oak, Cregger Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical is in Ferndale, and Temp - 1 Heating & Cooling, Roman Empire Heating and Cooling and FLAME Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Electrical are in Warren.
Do HVAC contractors need a license in Michigan?
Yes. Michigan requires mechanical contractors to be licensed through LARA's Bureau of Construction Codes, with classifications for heating, cooling and refrigeration. Before you hire anyone for furnace, air conditioning or other HVAC work, ask for the license number and check it. A website mention of being licensed is a good start, but checking the number yourself confirms the license is current and covers the type of work you need.
Why does my attic have condensation in winter?
Winter attic condensation usually means warm, moist air from the house is reaching the cold underside of the roof. A common source is a bathroom or kitchen exhaust fan that vents into the attic instead of through the roof. Those fans must vent through the roof. Roofing Army finds rotted decking from fans vented into attics every month. Have the fan ducts checked and routed outside, and have the roof decking inspected for damage.
Does Roofing Army do HVAC work?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only and does not do HVAC work. For furnace, air conditioning or duct service, contact one of the HVAC companies listed above. If you are worried about attic moisture, exhaust fan vents or damage to your roof decking, Roofing Army inspects roofs for free in Madison Heights and can tell you what it finds.
