Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a plumber based in Lake Orion?
Yes. Two of the plumbers on this list are based in Lake Orion: Plumbing By The Gas Guys and DeLong Plumbing Lake Orion. Lake Orion Plumbing Heating & Cooling is close by in Orion Township. Carter's Plumbing, Heating & Cooling works out of the Village of Clarkston, and Roncelli & Son's Plumbing is based in Bruce Township. All of them serve Lake Orion.
How do I verify a plumber's license in Michigan?
Michigan requires plumbing contractors to hold a state license issued through LARA's Bureau of Construction Codes. Ask for the license number and check it on the state's license lookup before any work starts. Do this even when a website says the company is licensed, since the lookup lets you confirm the number yourself. It takes a few minutes and is worth doing for any job, from a water heater swap to a sewer repair.
Do I need a permit for plumbing work in Lake Orion?
Permit requirements depend on the type of work. The simplest way to find out is to ask the plumber before the job starts and to check with the local building department that covers your address. A licensed plumbing contractor should know whether your job needs a permit and who will pull it. Get that answer in writing as part of the estimate, and keep any permit and inspection paperwork with your home records.
Does Roofing Army do plumbing?
No. Roofing Army does roofing only, so for plumbing you will want one of the companies on this list. Plumbing does meet the roof in one spot: vent pipes go up through it, and a cracked vent boot is one of the most common leaks we find on inspections. If you suspect a leak around a vent pipe, Roofing Army inspects roofs for free in Lake Orion.
